The majority of
coordinate measuring machines made since the 80's are
robust systems. Most are using air-bearings, which, if
kept in good repair, means the guideways have suffered
little to no wear. The part of the system that shows its
age before the others is the operating system. From
limited functionality and slow processing, to computers
that can't be replaced once they fail, to training that
is no longer available. Replacing the entire CMM is one
option, but not always a cost effective one for all
companies. Another option is retrofitting your existing
CMM with a new operating system. We offer retrofits for
a wide range of CMMs, including "portable arm" systems
as well as manual and CNC CMMs. |
